In the interests of full disclosure, I know and love Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie. I’ve campaigned for him, fundraised for him, and attended many a Fancy Farm Picnic with Him and His in Our Old Kentucky Home over many a year.
These days though, I dunno whether to shake My Friend’s hand or kick his ass between his shoulder blades … sometimes!? (I say that last part, a bit, in gest, btw!)
He’s a good man and has his heart in the right place in many an instance, but these days he’s in desperate need of course correction, and quickly. In less than two weeks from now President-elect and Vice President-elect Donald J. Trump and J. D. Vance will take the Official Oath of Office on Inauguration Day 2025, and begin Governing the Country for the next four years. But My Friend Tom Massie, it appears, isn’t on board with The Trump Agenda, aka Agenda 47! WHY? WHY NOT? I’d certainly like to know! Wouldn’t some of you?
Just what is Thomas Massie’s deal? What’s his major malfunction, dude? C’mon Man! Give us something.
He votes NO — one of the only NO VOTES, BTW, against Speaker of the U. S. House of Representatives Mike Johnson, which, in all honesty, I can kind of understand WHY he elected to do that. Mike Johnson isn’t exactly my cup of tea either, “so it is what it is. It don’t mean nothing. Adapt. Improvise. Overcome. Move out. Carry on. Hooah! And, if its a personal problem, see the Chaplin?!” — as my late, great United States Army Combat Veteran Daddy of the War in Vietnam would oft refrain in times of troubles, chaos or indecision, BUT I DIGRESS.
I’m just having a hard time understanding why Tough Tom Massie is saying, “NO” so much to Donald John Trump, Sr. How about y’all? Do you get it? Get where Massie is coming from with his loyal opposition to Trump and Agenda 47? WHY is he so diametrically opposed to the incoming agenda? Is it because he didn’t get key or what he saw as a key position in the incoming Trump Administration? Or is it because he didn’t get a key Committee assignment in this New Congress? What is it exactly that he’s so pissed off and mad at the world about and WHY? That’s a query that only Thomas Massie and those of us who know him best can answer. But, in all honesty, I am at a complete loss when it comes to this because he’s getting, as are a lot of his fellow Republicans, a lot of what he wants from Trump and from Mike Johnson. That’s WHY he needs to sit down, shut up, govern and listen, instead of out cruising for a bruising in more ways than one!
DEO VINDICE ET SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS!!
Dave,
the job of The Speaker of the House, can be quite difficult, they say like herding cats difficult. The Republicans have always been a fractured party.... look at the 2016 republican debates. But the new MAGA party is extremely focused on winning, especially after the 2020 election fiasco......too big to rig. Speaker Johnsons' job is going to be easy, if all the republicans act like the democrats and just follow Trumps lead, not try to lead the leader. It's President Trumps mandate to drain the swamp. Tell your buddy there to get in line or find another line of work....
Tim
I am 50/50 on Massie, he and a few others tend to be too bombastic sometimes, I somewhat agree with him on SoH but I thought the timing was wrong.
