Good afternoon!
This'll be an open message to you folks at City Hall today as well as to the Dallas Police Department in regards to the interim Police Chief being named today.
Folks, I don't trust this process, not a lick! Coming from City Management ran Government as I did in my now old hometown of Paducah, KY. USA, and maybe it's just me, BUT I DON'T TRUST CITY MANAGER RAN GOVERNMENT.
I think that it should really and truly be ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL OR NONE AT ALL. Up and down the ticket. And with a Community as large as Dallas, TX. USA is every Office, every TOP OFFICE should be run for. An election held every four to six years with such things as Chief of Police or Deputy Sheriff/High Sheriff should be run for, earned. Not appointed. To really and truly let the voters decide the matter once and for all.
WHY is it that in a Community the size of Dallas can't we do that? Oh! Just one person, the City Manager, appointed position btw, should be the one to really decide that so as to not put that much pressure on the shoulders of others to decide. Wait, what?! It's a shared responsibility. At least it should be anyways.
And if folks are to dumb or lazy to wanna have to decide it then they have no business to complain.
Another thing, in the Community this size, why is there no METRO GOVERNMENT?
Dallas, TX. USA should be Dallas, TX. USA through and through! As someone who lives in the City my value, my worth, is no better and no worse than someone who resides in the County! Everyone is equal. Everyone into the boat. We are all in this together.
And yet, no!? WHY? WHY NOT? I would submit it is because you folks in Government don't want us to have our maximum rights and freedoms. Vote for um. Fight for um. Earn um. WHY? WHY NOT? What's the distrust or the stress involved? WHY is City Hall so fearful of the People?
I am at a loss!
DEO VINDICE ET SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS!!!
